Wakefield Cricket's workshop known as "The Willow Workshop" has been doing bat repairs & refurbs for a few years now and will continue to do including making their very own bat under the watchful eye of Wakefield Cricket pod shaver.

Wakefield Cricket produce one of the finest ranges of hand made bats around today, but our success didn't arise without a lot of hard work and experience. We continue to use hand crafted techniques to ensure optimum performance from each bat.

We select each bat with care in order to get the best performance from each piece of willow and once it leaves us it will need to be looked after, please find instructions on caring for your new bat in the bat guide section.

Cricket Bat repairs & Refurbs.

The willow is a raw material and is not indestructible, if your bat does break or needs some attention due to wear and tear then we can usually repair it. Because we make all our bats by hand we are good at fixing them too, if you've driven a yorker, caught a flyer, caught the edge or the splice, even if the handle has fallen out; do not despair, we will do our best with the repair.

Bat breaks are unfortunately part of the game but there are a few things you can do to prolong the life of your bat; Making sure it is knocked in and oiled and trying not to toe tap but most importantly please ensure you are using a good quality ball as this is one of the main reasons bats breaks. Cheap sub-standard balls have no give in them and cause damage.

Repairs usually take 2 weeks but during the height of the season it may be longer. If you are local then please arrange to bring in your bat and we can assess the damage, bat repairs are ready to collect on Friday nights and you will be told which Friday night when you dropping off your bat, please keep your paperwork so we can find your bat when it is ready.

If you are one of our customers from far and wide then please send your bat to us, making sure it is properly protected and always inclosing your name, contacts number and email, your bat will be sent back to you when it is ready.

Knocking-in service.

We handcraft each bat with care in order to get the best performance from each piece of willow and once it leaves us it will need to be looked after.

We will include instructions on caring & knocking in for your new bat when purchasing your new cricket bat.
